CCGP2026 Opening Event “All4Kids” Tournament Regulations
This tournament is organised as the opening event of the Cyprus Chess Grand Prix 2026 and is dedicated exclusively to young players. The event aims to promote fair play, participation, and enjoyment of chess among children, while providing a competitive and well-structured environment under official tournament regulations.ading
Organization
- The event is organised as part of the Cyprus Chess Grand Prix 2026 (CCGP2026).
- The tournament is non-rated (results do not affect national or FIDE ratings).
- This event does not award Cyprus Chess Grand Prix points and does not affect the overall Grand Prix standings.
Venue
- The tournament will be held at Carob Mill, Limassol, Cyprus.

- Players must be at the venue at least 30 minutes before the first round for check-in and pairing.
Tournament System & Schedule
- The event shall be conducted under the Swiss System.
- There shall be seven (7) rounds.
- The time control shall be 5 minutes per player, no increment (5+0).
- All participants play in a single U14 open tournament with separate prize categories.
- The organisers reserve the right to adjust the schedule for organisational reasons.
Eligibility & Participation
- Participation is limited to children under 14 years old (born 2012 or later).
- Players born before 2012 are not eligible.
- The maximum number of participants is 80.
- Entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to correct registration and payment.
Categories & Prizes
- Although all players compete together, prizes are awarded in six (6) categories as defined by the organiser:
- U14 (BOYS 2012 y.o and younger)
- U11 (BOYS 2015 y.o and younger)
- U8 (BOYS 2018 y.o and younger)
- G14 (GIRLS 2012 and younger)
- G11 (GIRLS 2015 and younger)
- G8 (GIRLS 2018 and younger)
- Each participant must select one category during online registration.
- Declared categories are final and appear in the official starting list.
- The 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners in each category receive medals and special prizes from Freedom24 Chess Academy.
- All participants receive a Diploma of Appreciation from Freedom24.
- The player with the highest score overall shall be declared Overall Champion and receive the special signature trophy “CCGP2026 ALL4KIDS Champion”.
- Only the Overall Champion may receive two (2) prizes.
- All other players receive one (1) prize only from their declared category and shall not take prizes from other categories.
Chess Rules
- The event shall follow the FIDE Laws of Chess, applying the provisions relevant to Blitz Chess.
- Game notation is not required.
Pairings, Scoring & Tie-Breaks
- Pairings shall be generated by Swiss pairing software following standard Swiss principles (same-score pairing, colour balance, etc.).
- Scoring: 1 point for a win, ½ point for a draw, 0 points for a loss.
- In the event of ties, ranking shall be determined by the following criteria in order:
- Direct Encounter (if all tied have played each other)
- Buchholz Cut-1
- Buchholz
- Sonneborn-Berger
- Greater Number of Wins
- Greater Number of Wins with Black
Defaults & Behaviour
- Players not present at the board when the round starts may be forfeited at the Chief Arbiter’s discretion.
- All players must behave respectfully; unsporting conduct can result in penalties including loss of game or expulsion.
- Players must not use mobile phones or electronic devices in the playing area; violations may result in loss of game.
Arbiter Authority
- The event shall be supervised by a Chief Arbiter, whose decisions are final.
- The Chief Arbiter in consultation with the Chief Organizer may resolve issues not covered by these regulations.

- The entry fee is €10 and must be prepaid after registration.
- Registration is valid only after payment is confirmed.
Facilities
- A sweet table and water will be available for all participants.
Final Provisions
- The organisers reserve the right to refuse incomplete or unpaid registrations.
- The organisers reserve the right to make any necessary adjustments for successful organisation.
- Participation in the event implies full acceptance of these regulations.
